Australian Open Tips

I can see nothing less than a Rory win. He has not played in this since 2014, coming 15th, but he won in 2014. He will love the excited Aussie crowd and will be up for it. The price might look very nice after he wins.

We have some nice value here that is extended to be in the top 6. Min Woo has the potential to win this whole thing if he figures out his short game.

Adam Scott is another man who played well last week and finished in a lone 7th place. He arrives in form and can give us a good run this week.

Daniel Hillier is another who arrives on the back of a good effort at the Australian PGA with a top-five finish in that event. He can go well again this week.

Smith is in modest form with two missed cuts, but he is always a threat at the Australian Open. He is playing regularly with five top-27s in the last seven starts. His putter is his main problem lately, but he is sharp enough around the greens. I think Smith can post a top-6 finish.

Hebert is another player who is pretty tidy around the greens, and he loves the layout. He is a player who handles the wind very well. His driver is shaky, but four top-10s in the last five starts at the Australian Open speak enough for how he handles from the tee.

Home tournament for Elvis Smylie who should feel comfortable with these surroundings. He warmed up for this event with a good performance in his most recent event, Tied 19th last time. It looks as though he's on the way into some better form right now. One to consider

Home tournament for Karl Vilips so maybe the home crowd support can give him a lift. Small signs of improvement shown over his last two events, his all-round game looking good. Karl is still open to improvement which he may well show in this event.

Looking for some good each-way value. I am going to back Bernd Wiesberger, as he is vastly experienced and has some good recent form, being on the back of a top-10 finish.

A fairly open looking Australian Open, Sam Bairstow is one who is at least worth a look. He's shown steady improvement over his last 3 events so it's possible he's now close to his best form, his best form puts him in the mix today.

Joel will be looking to have a good week here. We will see how he performs against quality players as is tough ask.

At a massive three-figure price, I am going to take a chance on Danny Willett here. He not only has the experience, but he has been consistently making cuts and, with a good record in Australia, could surprise a few.

Nick Voke finished third at the prestigious Australian PGA Championship held recently. He is in good form and is quite capable of springing a surprise at this tournament too.

Rory is by far the best European in this tourney; hence the very low value for him to win it. Seems to be a no-brainer here for me.

Puig is a dead-on ringer to finish in the top 4 of all the Europeans in this group. This is not the best value, but still in the money, probably.
