What Portsmouth may lack in resources, they could make up with an experienced boss in Kenny Jackett who has two promotions on his CV from this division. With respect to L1, Sunderland, Portsmouth & Charlton, (& Coventry) are the biggest clubs in terms of fanbase & stadia: 18/24 are below 20k in capacity, 14 below 15k. It means the biggest teams should have more resources at their disposal. Portsmouth's young team had a learning curve after promotion and it was Jackett's first season in charge after taking over from Cook. There is plenty of scope for improvement. Only 8 teams scored fewer goals, though they possessed the 9th best defence. They were inconsistent and only the promoted teams & Shrewsbury secured more than their 20 wins. The flipside that only four teams lost more than Pompey (20). They also recorded the lowest number of draws (6). It might explain why Jackett signed Naylor from Burton as a defensive midfielder. Portsmouth should have enough to reach the play-offs (Portsmouth, to be promoted 3-1). Luton's impetus should continue, Oxford & Southend have experienced managers, the latter doing their transfer business earlier. That could make them an outside bet in a division as a surprise challengers.

This is an absolute steal with 3-1 on offer outright's. Evens just to be promoted is a gift I had them at 1-2. A word of caution with several new signings in may well take the side a while to gel but with home support strength of the squad this is a gift in my view got strength throughout the squad few players have left which to be honest was no bad thing as they were not giving their all for the badge. The signing of Jack Baldwin from Peterborough and knows what it takes to succeed in this division. This league is all about consistency like I say with the summer clear oot of a lot of dead wood some of the players look to be very astute buys. Think they will win this and win with a degree of comfort. Hope so I have several sizable doubles and trebles running on to them be promoted.
