Zola To Become Next West Ham Manager
Thursday 11 September 2008 at 09:02
The next West Ham manager betting market looks to have closed following reports that Gianfranco Zola has agreed to take the job.
Zola was the favourite for the position and received a lot of backing from punters, according to William Hill.
And now BBC Sport has suggested that the betting industry could be in line to make a sizeable payout, as it reports that the former Chelsea striker has signed a three-year-deal with the Hammers.
Odds on the market are still available at Betfair, where Zola is 1/100.
Following the news, West Ham United are 13/2 at Paddy Power to finish in the top six of the Premier League this season and 66/1 at 888Sport for a top four position.
In the relegation betting, VC Bet prices their chances of going down at 12/1.
Meanwhile, in the next Newcastle manager market, Zola's former team-mate Gustavo Poyet is 10/11 at Totesport to get the job.
Paul Ince (6/1, Totesport) is the next strongest contender, according to the odds, while a price of 13/2 is available at Totesport on Didier Deschamps.
