Jamaica Even Bigger Favourites For Olympics Mens 4 X 100m Relay

 Usain Bolt's world-record-breaking run in the final of the men's 200m at the Beijing Games yesterday has caused bookmakers to further shorten the odds on Jamaica winning the Olympics men's 4 x 100m relay.
The country, who were 1/2 for victory earlier in the week, are now 1/3 at Ladbrokes, with USA expected to be their closest rivals at 3/1.
Odds of 12/1 are available at VC Bet on any other nation coming out on top, while Trinidad & Tobago are 14/1 at William Hill and Great Britain are 50/1 at Sportingbet.
Jamaica's squad boasts three finalists from the men's 100m competition, including champion and world record holder Bolt and former fastest man on the planet Asafa Powell.
Meanwhile, the USA have three medalists from the 100m and 200m events, as well as reigning world champion Tyson Gay, who has been suffering with injury.
Great Britain have managed to pull off upsets in the relay in the past, not least at the Athens Olympics four years ago when they took gold.
However, with none of the country's athletes represented in the 100m final, most experts feel it will be an uphill task for the team to hang on to their crown.
