Advisor Makes Mourinho England Claim Tuesday 04 December 2007 at 09:00 Jose Mourinho would consider taking the job of England manager if he received an official approach, his personal advisor claims.
Eladio Parames, who works closely with the Portuguese, has revealed that his client would mull over any approach from the Football Association.
And the news that Mourinho is prepared to discuss the position has seen the odds on the former Chelsea man slashed to 11/8 with Bet 365.
Parames has claimed that Mourinho's love for England would make him a good choice for the job.
He told the Associated Press: "It would be an honour. He likes English football, the people, the country and the players.
"It's something he'd consider but he's not trying to get the FA's attention."
He added: "He's not waving his hands in the air, but if he's approached, he'll reply."
Parames also dismissed claims that it would take an astronomical offer to win the services of Mourinho.
"Jose's problem would never be money. If he's approached, invited, there will be positive and negative things for him to consider and he'll weigh up the pros and cons," he added.
Meanwhile, Fabio Capello remains Mourinho's main competition for the post, rated at 9/4 with Bet Fred.
