Roeder Raids Old Haunt In Attempt To Beat The Drop

 Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder has returned to his old club Newcastle United for a loan signing as he tries to lift the Carrow Road club off the foot of the Championship table.
The new man in charge at the East Anglian outfit has signed Matthew Pattison on loan until January 1st in an attempt to turn around the fortunes of a team who are five points adrift at the bottom of the league and 11/10 favourites for the drop with Stan James.
Roeder was quick to praise the 21-year-old, who made 12 appearances for the Magpies' first team last season.
"When I was Newcastle academy boss, I was told Matty would be the best player to come through into the first-team and I wasn't disappointed," he said.
"When I became manager at Newcastle, I used him both as a substitute and starting a number of games," Roeder added.
While Norwich struggle to escape relegation, their local rivals Ipswich are still revelling in the aftermath of last weekend's 6-0 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Bristol City, a result which saw the Portman Road club's promotion odds narrowed to 11/2 with Bet365.
