Samurai Way Ahead In Ante-post Prices For Cesarewitch
Wednesday 17 October 2007 at 14:01
Luca Cumani, the owner of Samurai Way, is hoping that the weather does not turn before the weekend's Cesarewitch race at Newmarket.
Samurai Way has been well backed in the ante-post markets for the two-mile-two-furlong race, but is running the race for the first time and is not used to such long distances.
Samurai Way is currently joint favourite with Fair Along at 5/1 with Bet365, but Cumani explained that he stands a better chance on firmer ground.
"Samurai Way is in good form and took his race at Ascot very well. He has worked well since and I am very happy with him. I hope the ground will be good or good to soft - I would prefer it not to be a slog because we are going two extra furlongs with him," he told newmarketracecourses.co.uk.
There are still 52 horses preparing for Saturday's race with the 8/1 priced Marcoville and Leg Spinner also well backed.
Frankie Dettorri rides the 25/1 Full House.
