Gordon Brown Fired As Next London Mayor Betting Odds Released
Wednesday 25 June 2008 at 12:24
Recent polls have suggested that Gordon Brown's days as Prime Minister could be numbered as Labour members want him out but one person who Labour apparently want to ‘hire' is Alan Sugar to stand as their candidate for Mayor of London.
Sugar To Be Hired Or Fired
William Hill have made Alan Sugar 20/1 to win the next London Mayoral Election in 2012 after reports emerged that he was being lined up by Labour MPs to stand on their behalf. Sugar is a popular figure following his role in ‘The Apprentice' where he comes across as a no nonsense man who gets the best out of people.
Gordon Brown Could Be Gone Soon
Meanwhile Gordon Brown's diminishing popularity means he might not even see out the next general election as Prime Minister. William Hill are offering 6/4 that Brown does not lead Labour into the general election and 1/2 that he will lead them into the next general election.
David Miliband Next Labour Leader
There is no clear candidate to replace Gordon Brown as Labour leader. David Miliband is the favourite with the bookies, the Secretary of State For Foreign And Commonwealth Affairs is 5/2 with Paddy Power, who have Jon Cruddas at 5/1 and John Denham, Alan Johnson and Ed Balls all at 6/1 to succeed Gordon Brown.
