Gasquet Favourite In Mercedes Cup Betting Odds As Nadal Pulls Out

 Newly crowned Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal pulled out of the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart on Monday with a knee injury. Muscle pain just above the right knee was to blame and the defending champ told promoters personally that he would be unable to play.
Gasquet Is Hot Favourite
Nadal's withdrawal leaves Richard Gasquet as the one to beat in the Mercedes Cup odds as he is 9/4 with Bet365 but as short as 6/4 with Ladbrokes who clearly think he has a massive chance of winning.
Four More Pull Out
Four other seeded players also pulled out on Friday which gives the tournament a slightly weaker look to it. The biggest miss will be Rainer Schuettler who was defeated by Nadal in the semi final of Wimbledon as he is now suffering from an elbow injury. This should give an opportunity to some of the second tier players and makes the Mercedes Cup betting wide open.
The Main Challengers To Gasquet
Nicolas Almagro is second favourite for the Mercedes Cup at 14/5 with Stan James whilst Philipp Kohlschreiber is not too far behind in the Mercedes Cup odds at 6/1 with Ladbrokes. Augustin Calleri is the only other player with a single figure quote at 7/1 with Stan James.

The rest of the contenders all have double figure prices, Simone Bolelli is 10/1 with Stan James and Juan Martin Del Potro is 16/1 with Stan James.
