Leeds United Hot Favourites In League One Betting Odds
Tuesday 29 July 2008 at 12:35
Leeds United are strongly fancied by punters and journalists alike and SkyBet are a stand out price of 10/3 in the League One betting.
Leeds Fifteen Points Better Off This Season
Leeds managed to reach the Playoff final last season despite a massive fifteen point deduction after failing to follow insolvency rules. Without that deduction Leeds would have finished one point behind clear League One winners Swansea. Leeds are likely to put up a good performance this season and fans will expect at least promotion, for which they are 4/5 with Bet365 and Coral.
Relegated Leicester Look To New Signings
Leicester are second favourites for League One having been relegated from the Championship last season. They are 5/1 with William Hill and Paddy Power and with five new players including a couple of young loan signings from the Premiership they should do well.
Newly Promoted Sides Set To Go Well
There is a long gap in the odds back to Peterborough who are 12/1 with Boylesports and MK Dons who are 14/1 with Paddy Power and SkyBet. Both sides gained automatic promotion from League Two last year and the relatively short odds they are pays a massive compliment to the quality of League Two.
Mk Dons finished five points ahead of Peterborough last year but MK Dons have since lost their manager Paul Ince to Blackburn Rovers and have replaced him with the high profile but unproven Roberto Di Matteo. That deal means MK Dons transfer activity will have to be somewhat rushed so it is no surprise Peterborough are narrowly ahead of them in the League One odds.
