Bookmaker Olympics Odds Underestimate Team GB Chances

 William Hill have had to correct their Summer Olympics 2008 odds after the Great Britain team outperformed all expectations.
Team GB Wins More Golds Than Expected
Initial quotes had them at 5/6 to gain 11 or more gold medals but they now go 5/6 that GB will gain more than 17 gold medals. William Hill's Graham Sharpe said:
We under-estimated the potential of Team GB and punters who steamed in to them to get 11 are on very good terms with themselves, so we have now upped the ante for punters - and for Team GB!
45 Or More Medals Now Predicted
William Hill have also had to change their odds on the amount of medals Team Great Britain will win during the Olympics. Having originally gone 5/6 for 34 or more medals they are now 5/6 for 45 or more medals.
Will Great Britain Beat The Aussies
Clearly Great Britain have been as successful as the punters during the Olympics and there could be further success to come. Great Britain are 8/11 with William Hill to win more medals than Australia with Australia evens to win more medals than Great Britain.
