Gus Poyet Favourite In Next Leeds United Manager Betting Odds As Gary McAllister Is Sacked
Sunday 21 December 2008 at 11:46
Gary McAllister has been sacked as Leeds United manager following their latest loss to MK Dons and the favourite to be the Next Leeds Utd Manager is their former assistant manager Gus Poyet.
Gus Poyet Backed For Elland Road Return
Poyet left Leeds just over a year ago to become assistant manager at Spurs when Juande Ramos took over. He was relieved of that position a year later and has since been out of work. He has been backed from 7/1 over the last week and the 4/1 that was available yesterday with SkyBet was snapped up by those in the know. He is now 5/2 with SkyBet and with him already being well known and respected by Leeds United it would be no surprise to see him appointed as early as this week.
Boothroyd And Davies Are Second Favourites
We have joint second favourites and they are Aidy Boothroyd and Billy Davies. Both can be backed at 7/1 with SkyBet. Both have done well with their sides in the Championship but both were sacked by their clubs due to poor form. They are both talented managers and sure to be high on the Leeds shortlist.
Other Names Interested
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson is 8/1 and he looks to be an up and coming manager. Iain Dowie and Joe Royle are both 12/1 with SkyBet and it is particularly interesting to see the experienced Joe Royle linked with the job.
Keane And Ince Linked With Management Return
To see the odds on Roy Keane and Paul Ince and to see who else is being linked with the job, and their odds, visit the SkyBet website and look under Manager Specials.
