Oscars Betting Has Slumdog Millionaire As Favourite For Best Picture
Friday 23 January 2009 at 11:52
Slumdog Millionaire is the odds on favourite in the Oscars Best Picture betting after the Oscar nominations were made on Thursday. Slumdog Millionaire was a massive success at the Golden Globes scooping four awards and it is expected to be even more successful at the Oscars next month.
Betting On Slumdog To Make You A Millionaire?
Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle, is the 8/15 favourite with Stan James to win the Oscar for Best Motion Picture. It is an amazing tale of a boy's journey to winning the top prize on the Hindi version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. As with all Danny Boyle films, it is very gritty and it is strongly expected to win Best Picture.
Bookies Disagree On Two Films
The bookies seem to have a varying opinion of the Curious Case Of Benjamin Button which is directed by Fight Club and Seven director David Fincher. VC Bet go as short as 5/2 but Boylesports are willing to lay 11/2. Another that the bookies can't agree on is Milk, Bet365 have it as a 6/1 shot but William Hill go 12/1.
The Outsiders And Best Oscars Bet
The two outsiders are Frost/Nixon which is 14/1 with Bet365 and William Hill and The Reader which is 20/1 with VC Bet. Although the Oscars are never as predictable as many think, Slumdog Millionaire is strongly expected to win at 8/15 with Stan James and looks worth a bet.
