Roger Federer And Rafael Nadal Dominate Australian Open Betting Odds
Wednesday 28 January 2009 at 12:32
It looks a two horse race in the Australian Open as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are clear in the Australian Open Betting. The bookies are already celebrating as Andy Murray would have been a massive loser for them but it still seems one of the initial favourites are likely to win.
Roger Federer The Odds On Favourite
Roger Federer is the odds on favourite with most bookies but he can still be backed at 11/10 with Sportingbet. Federer has looked pretty impressive so far and certainly looks the most likely winner. He now faces Andy Roddick in the semi final.
Nadal Not Far Behind Federer
Rafael Nadal is the close second favourite and can be backed at 5/4 with Bet365. Nadal defeated Gilles Simon from France in the quarter final despite not looking at his best. His performance does however mean that he has not yet dropped a set in the Australian Open this year. He now faces fellow Spaniard Fernando Verdasco on Friday in the semi finals.
Roddick And Verdasco Expected To Be Beaten
Most will be expecting a Federer v Nadal final as both Roddick and Verdasco are well behind in the betting. Verdasco is 14/1 with Blue Square and SkyBet whilst Roddick is 20/1 with Sportingbet and VC Bet.
