England Six Nations Odds Drift After Scrappy Win Against The Italians
Monday 09 February 2009 at 12:34
The odds of England winning the Six Nations have drifted after the first round of matches over the weekend. Mean while Ireland have solidified their position as second favourites, just behind tournament favourites Wales.
Bookies Unimpressed With England
England could only beat outsiders Italy 36-11, despite the Italians making several key errors in the match. As a result England can now be backed at 7/1 with Sportingbet to win the Six Nations. England are a massive 18/1 with Blue Square and Totesport to do the Grand Slam whilst they are joint third favourites to be the top tryscoring team at 7/2 with Stan James.
England Face Tough Task This Weekend
England face tournament favourites Wales on Saturday and are 10/3 with Sportingbet to win the match. Wales are the red hot favourites to win at 1/3 with SkyBet and Coral whilst the unlikely draw is 22/1 with Bet365.
Wales Set To Dominate
Wales overcame Scotland 26-13 at the weekend and have hardened as favourites to win the Six Nations. They are best priced 11/8 with Paddy Power while they are 7/2 with Paddy Power to win the Grand Slam (no winner is 4/6 with SkyBet) and they are 7/4 with Stan James to be the top tryscorers.
Ireland Now Second Favourites
Ireland have become the clear second favourites after beating France 30-21. They are now 9/4 with Bet365 and Stan James. France are now out to 11/2 with SkyBet and VC Bet, just ahead of England. Scotland are out to 66/1 with Totesport whilst Italy are a massive 500/1 with Paddy Power.
