Rangers V Celtic Betting And Team News
Saturday 14 March 2009 at 12:00
Neutrals couldn't have hoped for a better final and the bookies are finding it extremely difficult to split the Old Firm. Rangers are 7/4 with Bet365 and Boylesports whilst Celtic are 7/4 with SkyBet and Coral. The draw is 9/4 with Stan James.
Rangers Team News
Kirk Broadfoot, the Rangers full back, is struggling with a foot injury and is rated a doubt for the game. Nacho Novo is back and influential Madjid Bougherra should be fit to play.
Celtic Team News
Good news and bad news for Celtic, Mark Wilson should make it back to play in defence having got over a pelvic injury but it looks as though midfielder Barry Robson will miss out through injury. Willo Flood is ineligible for the game and the likes of Shaun Maloney, Paddy McCourt and Koki Mizuno are all out.
Rangers v Celtic Betting
Celtic and Rangers are both in similar form at the moment, not breathtaking but not too bad either. Rangers have been very solid in recent games, they have conceded just two goals in their last six games. The sides played out a 0-0 draw last month and we could be in for another draw here at 9/4 with Stan James.
With both sides scoring plenty recently it is doubtful we will see another 0-0. A better bet is 1-1 which seems most likely at 11/2 with SkyBet and Stan James. There could be a bit of value in backing 2-2 which is 16/1 with SkyBet and Sportingbet. If you fancy Celtic to win back 2-1 at 11/1 with William Hill and the same scoreline for Rangers is 11/1 with William Hill.
Scott McDonald could be most likely to score for Celtic and he is 6/1 with Paddy Power and SkyBet to score first and 2/1 with Paddy Power and Coral to score anytime. Shunsuke Nakamura also makes some appeal at 9/2 with Paddy Power to score anytime. For Rangers, their best chance may be Nacho Novo who is good value at 8/1 with SkyBet and William Hill to score first and 11/4 with SkyBet to score anytime.
