Monday 23 March 2009 at 11:10
The Grand Prix season gets underway this week in Australia and many will be surprised by who is favourite to win the Australian Grand Prix, it is a Brit but it is not last year's F1 Drivers Championship winner Lewis Hamilton.
Jenson Button Could Start With A Bang
Jenson Button is favourite to start the season with a win, he can be backed at 4/1 with Blue Square, Ladbrokes and Coral to win this week's Grand Prix. He is also favourite to start the race in pole position, he can be backed at 9/2 with Stan James to finish on pole. This could be the highlight of Button's season though, he is 9/1 to win the Drivers Championship with Boylesports.
Lewis Hamilton Looking For More Success
Lewis Hamilton will be the name most people will be looking out for, he is one of the favourites to win the F1 Drivers Championship this season at 5/1 with Bet365. Hamilton is 10/1 with Bet365 and Stan James to win the Australian Grand Prix this weekend and a bet for British fans, Button and Hamilton to finish first and second in any order is 20/1 Ladbrokes.
Ferrari Hold All The Aces
Ferrari look like they are on for a good season, they have two of the favourites in the Drivers Championship, Kimi Raikonnen is the favourite at 4/1 with Paddy Power and Coral whilst last year's runner up Felipe Massa is 5/1 with Blue Square and Paddy Power. Raikonnen is fancied to outperform Massa this weekend, he is 5/1 with Coral and William Hill to win the Australian Grand Prix whilst Massa is 13/2 with Bet365.
Rubens Barrichello Could Be In For Good Weekend
Rubens Barrichello is the other driver fancied to go well this week, he is 13/2 with Bet365 to win the Australian Grand Prix and 6/1 with Paddy Power to gain pole position for the race.
