Scottish Grand National 2009 Betting Odds Headed By Chief Dan George
Friday 17 April 2009 at 12:48
Chief Dan George is the strong favourite for the 2009 Scottish Grand National which takes place at Ayr on Saturday afternoon. A field of twenty one runners have been declared and their looks to be some good each way bets to be had in the race.
How Good Is Chief Dan George?
Chief Dan George has been given rave reviews by his trainer James Moffatt in the build up to the race and with just five chase starts and two wins on good ground he looks as though he has everything in his favour for the race. Chief Dan George can be backed at 7/1 with Bet365, Totesport, Ladbrokes and Coral.
Nine De Sivola Looks To Go One Place Better
Two years ago a six year old Nine De Sivola finished second in this race and it was thought he would go on to score some great victories in staying chases over the next few seasons, things haven't quite panned out for him and he is still without a win over fences but he is clearly very talented and put in a great run in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham behind Tricky Trickster. Nine De Sivola seems certain to place so should be backed each way at 8/1 with Bet365, Paddy Power and Stan James.
Tricky Trickster Looks A Horse On The Upgrade
Tricky Trickster reopposes Nine De Sivola 10lbs worse off for a ten and a half length victory and he is the only other horse with a single figure price at this stage. He can be backed at 8/1 with Bet365, Paddy Power and Coral and with just four chase starts so far he is open to plenty of improvement.
More Well Fancied Runners
Other horses who warrant a mention include West End Rocker who has been well backed into 10/1 with Paddy Power and Coral, Merigo who is overpriced at 12/1 with Totesport having won twice at Ayr in four runs and Hello Bud who is another who has been well gambled on and is 16/1 with Bet365, Blue Square and William Hill.
