Thursday 07 May 2009 at 10:54
Sir Alan Sugar is one of the candidates to become London's Next Mayor. Boris Johnson, the current Mayor, is the favourite to retain his role but it seems the success of the Apprentice has boosted Sir Alan Sugar's credentials.
Boris Likely To Hold On To Job
Despite the speculation about Sugar, Boris Johnson's job is at least safe for the time being and it looks as though he is popular enough to be voted in again. Paddy Power offer just 8/11 that he wins the next election for London Mayor.
Ken Livingstone Wants To Return
The second favourite is former London Mayor Ken Livingstone and he is 8/1 with Paddy Power. Livingstone was replaced as London Mayor by Boris Johnson and it seems as though he is keen to regain his job so he could stand once again at the next election.
Sir Alan To Fire Boris
‘You're Fired' could be the words that Sir Alan Sugar tells Boris Johnson after the next election, Sugar is 12/1 with Paddy Power to be the next Mayor of London. Sugar's no nonsense style on The Appprentice has made him extremely popular and as a strong minded Londoner he could be an ideal candidate.
Jeremy Clarkson To Run For Mayor?
Paddy Power seem to be having a bit of fun by pricing up Jeremy Clarkson to become Mayor! The Top Gear presenter can be backed at a whopping 200/1 to be the next Mayor but maybe it would be better for Paddy Power to bet on Clarkson receiving no votes at all!
