Next Celtic Manager Betting Odds Suggest It Is Very Close Between Mowbray And Coyle
Friday 29 May 2009 at 10:36
Tony Mowbray and Owen Coyle are now extremely well matched in the Next Celtic Manager Betting Odds but one of them remains the narrow favourite.
Mowbray Edging Favouritism
It has been like a game of cat and mouse between the pair in the betting this week and it is Tony Mowbray who is currently clinging on to favouritism, the West Brom manager is 9/4 with William Hill. It seems that the compensation issues between the clubs might be sorted out but Celtic certainly have a back up option if they are not.
Coyle To Sacrifice Burnley Premier Chance?
Owen Coyle has spent some time as favourite to get the Celtic job but he is currently being edged out by Mowbray. Coyle can be backed at 5/2 with William Hill and he may be a better bet than Mowbray. He has done a great job at Burnley and would be a good choice for Celtic and even though he would love to manage Burnley in the Premiership, the lure of Celtic might be too much to turn down.
Three Well Backed Managers
Three other managers that have been well backed this week are Craig Levein, Slaven Bilic and Mark McGhee. All three have been backed from big odds during the week, Levein is now 7/1 with Blue Square and SkyBet, Bilic is 7/1 with SkyBet and VC Bet having been as big as 33/1 and McGhee, who was Strachan's recommendation to replace him, is 10/1 with Paddy Power and Blue Square.
Celtic Return For Collins Or Lennon?
Other managers still being linked with the job include David O'Leary, Alan Curbishley, John Collins and Neil Lennon. To find out the odds on them, and to see who else is fancied in the betting, click on any of the bookie links above.
