Britains Got Talent Expected To Generate Ten Bets A Second
Friday 29 May 2009 at 20:30
Bookmakers William Hill are expecting ten bets a second to be placed on Britains Got Talent by Saturday night's final.
Betting Through The Roof
Britains Got Talent has generated a multi million pound income for bookmakers this year and it is expected that new records could be set by the time the final begins on TV. William Hill's spokesman Rupert Lowe had this to say:
We expect turnover to go through the roof on the final night and have drafted in extra staff to cope with demand. Our current estimate is that we will be taking ten bets a second at peak time on Saturday night.
Susan Boyle In Double Your Money Bet
Susan Boyle is expected to be responsible for most of the bets, she is the favourite and can currently be backed at even money with Sportingbet and Ladbrokes. She has been the favourite since week one and most will be expecting her to cost the bookies millions on Saturday night.
Aidan Davis Looks Overpriced
Aidan Davis looks most likely to take advantage if Susan Boyle fails to win, the young dancer is the general second favourite and he can be backed at 6/1 with Bet365, Paddy Power and Stan James. If you don't like the short price about Susan Boyle and fancy a bet then Aidan Davis is for you.
The Best Of The Rest
Also prominent in the betting are Shaheen Jafargholi who is 10/1 with Sportingbet, Stavros Flatley who are 10/1 with Sportingbet and Flawless who are 12/1 with Boylesports. To view the full betting on Britains Got Talent and to compare each acts' chances, click on any of the bookie links above.
