Next Newcastle Manager Betting Odds Still Point To Alan Shearer
Wednesday 10 June 2009 at 11:46
Alan Shearer is still the hot favourite in the Next Newcastle Manager Betting Odds despite doubts about the future of the whole club.
Shearer Has The Job If He Wants It
Owner Mike Ashley has put the club up for sale at £100m and it seems Newcastle will wait until there are new owners before appointing their new manager. Alan Shearer, who was in charge when the side were relegated from the Premiership, is the odds on favourite to be in charge of Newcastle on the first day of next season and can be backed at 8/13 with William Hill.
Curbs Waits For Right Offer
The second favourite for the job is Alan Curbishley who can be backed at 10/1 with William Hill. Curbs has been out of work for almost a year now since leaving West Ham and he has been linked with every job under the sun. He is clearly waiting for the right offer and this could be it.
Joe Kinnear To Return?
Next best in the betting is Joe Kinnear, who is still technically employed by Newcastle. Kinnear was in charge on a temporary basis but he had to be replaced on an even more temporary basis due to health issues. It is likely he will step down but he is the 14/1 third favourite to be in charge at the start of next season.
Former England Managers Linked
