Twenty20 World Cup Odds And Tips
Thursday 18 June 2009 at 11:59
With four sides left in the Twenty20 World Cup it still looks surprisingly competitive and and of the four sides could still win the tournament.
South Africa The Favourites And Rightly So
South Africa are the favourites and they can currently be backed at 6/4 with Bet365, Boylesports and Stan James to lift the Twenty20 World Cup. It was South Africa who effectively ended England's hopes of winning the tournament and they have looked pretty strong throughout so it is no surprise they are favourites to go all the way.
Sri Lanka Expected To Reach Final
Sri Lanka are next best in the betting and it is likely to be Sri Lanka and South Africa who make up the final, you can get almost 6/4 on them being the two finalists on Betfair. Sri Lanka are currently a stand out price of 11/4 with Sportingbet but are as short as 9/4 with some bookies.
West Indies Have Tough Times Ahead
West Indies are just edging third favouritism stopping them from being the complete outsiders, they can be backed at 9/2 with Totesport, Paddy Power and Ladbrokes. They shouldn't be written off but they do face a tough task in beating both Sri Lanka and probably South Africa in the final hence the big price that is available.
Pakistan Unlucky With Draw
Pakistan are the other side left in and they would be much shorter if they had a kinder draw. Many bookies still have them as third favourites ahead of West Indies but Sportingbet are taking them on at 5/1 as they are ducking South Africa, clearly because they are of the opinion South Africa are the best bet. We agree with that and South Africa are worth a bet at 6/4 with Bet365, Boylesports and Stan James.
