Premiership Top Goalscorer Betting Odds Make Torres And Drogba Favourites
Thursday 30 July 2009 at 12:00
The Premiership is just a couple of weeks away and the Premiership Top Goalscorer betting is becoming more and more popular with punters.
Fernando Torres The Clear Favourite
The hot favourite to be the Premiership Golden Boot this season is Liverpool striker Fernando Torres who is 4/1 with Blue Square, Stan James and Coral. Torres has never really played enough Premiership games in a season to score as many goals as he is capable of but if he stays injury free and isn't rested for the Champions League he has to be there or thereabouts.
Will Drogba Score More Than Anelka?
The second favourite is Didier Drogba who is rated a 10/1 chance with Ladbrokes, making him more likely than team mate Nicolas Anelka who is 12/1 with Paddy Power and William Hill to be top scorer. Drogba seems to be more and more injury prone these days so the best bet at Chelsea might be Anelka, especially as he won the top scorer award last season.
Man Utd Have Several Chances
Manchester United will miss the goals of Cristiano Ronaldo but they have Michael Owen who has been in good form in the pre season, he is now 12/1 with Bet365 and Totesport whilst Man Utd team mates Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov are 12/1 with Paddy Power and 25/1 with Coral respectively. The latter could be the best each way shout in the market. For more top scorer odds, click on any of the bookie links above.
