Thursday 03 September 2009 at 12:07
The US Open Odds still have Roger Federer and Andy Murray as the most likely winners and a final between the pair still looks the most likely outcome, with Federer coming out on top.
Federer And Murray Are Dominating Betting
Roger Federer, who has won the US Open for the last five years, is just 11/10 with Bet365, Sportingbet, Blue Square and SkyBet to make it six in a row. His toughest challenge is likely to come from Andy Murray who he beat in the final last year, Andy Murray is rated a 10/3 chance with Sportingbet. The odds on a repeat of last year's final are 2/1 with Paddy Power
Nadal Backed For Victory
Rafael Nadal is still the third favourite to win the US Open but he has been backed after looking close to his best following his knee problems. Nadal is now 13/2 with SkyBet and Coral but as short as 5/1 with most bookies. The odds on Nadal facing Federer in the final have also shortened, it is now 7/2 with Paddy Power.
Roddick Chasing Second Win But There Is Stiff Opposition
The last non Federer US Open victory came from Andy Roddick and he is one of the ‘best of the rest', Roddick can be backed at 16/1 with Sportingbet. He faces tough competition from the likes of Novak Djokovic who is 10/1 with Bet365, Stan James and SkyBet and Juan Martin Del Potro who is 14/1 with Sportingbet.
