Ricky Whittle Still Favourite In Strictly Come Dancing 2009 Betting
Monday 12 October 2009 at 16:14
The couples on Strictly Come Dancing this week will be attempting either a Viennese waltz or a jive.
Both dances are rated as difficult by the professionals so expect a tricky time for your favourite celebrities!
Ricky Whittle still favourite after ‘under rehearsed' salsa
Hollyoaks' actor Ricky Whittle has been the strong favourite for Strictly Come Dancing since the first week of the show but he failed to wow the judges this week with his salsa, prompting judge Alesha Dixon to suggest she felt Whittle and partner Natalie Lowe might have ‘slightly under rehearsed'.
Whittle remains a best price of 11/8 with bookmakers Boylesports and Stan James.
The Bill star Ali Bastian hates getting physical on SCD
The bookies have Ali Bastian and her dance partner Brian Fortuna as second favourites to lift the Strictly Come Dancing glitter ball but Ali admitted she has trouble displaying the required raunchiness of dances such as last week's salsa. Will this reluctance count against her or will her skill at the ballroom dances make the 10/3 available with Skybet seem like an attractive price?
Laila Rouass tops the judges' leaderboard on Week Four
Despite a week of intense publicity over comments made by dance partner Anton Du Beke, actress Laila Rouass gave her best performance of Strictly Come Dancing so far when dancing an elegant foxtrot.
Rouass and Du Beke could still be over priced at 9/1 with Sportingbet and Betfred.
Will personality outweigh footwork when it comes to votes?
Perhaps there could be another John Sergeant lurking in this year's Strictly Come Dancing field and the public will vote with their hearts instead of their heads? If so, the big personalities of Eastender Ricky Groves (best priced 28/1 with Coral) or ex-cricketer, Phil Tufnell (12/1 with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power) could be the place to put your SCD wager?
Tune into Strictly Come Dancing on BBC1, Saturday at 7.15pm.
