Rage Against The Machine Christmas Number One Odds Shorten As It Is Revealed Killing In The Name Is Outselling X Factor
Tuesday 15 December 2009 at 16:31
The bookies are running scared of Rage Against the Machine and ‘Killing In The Name' as punters continue to back the song to be Christmas Number One this week.
Killing In The Name Outselling The Climb And Punters Know It
Latest figures show that Killing In The Name is outselling The Climb, which is the X Factor winner's song, by around 5 000 units, and that has led to the bookies cutting the price of the song being Christmas Number One. William Hill have cut the odds from 6/1 down to 10/3 and it could shorten even further. As a result Joe McElderry is now out to 1/5 with William Hill, meaning he is still the hot favourite ahead of the CDs for his song hitting the shops on Tuesday.
Rage Against The Machine Certain To Be In Top Two For Christmas
Paddy Power are offering odds ‘without the X Factor Winner' and they have Rage Against The Machine as massive favourites, they are just 1/18 with Paddy Power! This means that even if they don't beat Joe McElderry they are certain to finish as number two which is no mean feat. Next best in that market is the bizarre Lady GaGa, she is 6/1 with Paddy Power whilst a novelty effort from the Muppets is 10/1 with Paddy Power.
