Golden Globe Betting Odds make Jason Reitman and James Cameron favourites in the Best Director category with their respective films set to dominate the awards ceremony which will take place on January 17th in Beverly Hills, California.
Up In The Air Set To Clean Up And Could Beat Avatar
Comedy drama Up In The Air has created plenty of buzz already and is likely to win several Golden Globes on the way to the Oscars. The film stars George Clooney and Jason Bateman amongst others and the director, Jason Reitman, is the 13/8 favourite with Paddy Power to win the Golden Globe for Best Director, Boylesports who are also offering odds are even more certain of his success as they offer just 11/10. The main competitor is unsurprisingly James Cameron who is a joint favourite with Paddy Power at 13/8 but if you want to back him to win for his visually stunning movie Avatar you should take the 5/2 on offer with Boylesports.
Female Director Could Steal The Show From Nelson Mandela Film
There are of course three other nominees for the Best Director category, we could see a female winner with Kathryn Bigelow nominated for Hurt Locker, she is 5/1 with Bolyesports whilst Paddy Power offer the same price of 5/1 about Clint Eastwood's chances for Invictus, the story of Nelson Mandela. The betting is completed by Quentin Tarantino, who got mixed receptions for Inglourious Basterds which is the 7/1 outsider with Paddy Power.
