Next Reading Manager Betting Odds Have Darren Ferguson As Favourite With Brian McDermott Just Behind
Friday 18 December 2009 at 12:29
It looks a two horse race in the Next Reading Manager Betting Odds with two managers dominating the odds and the rest now looking no hopers for the job.
One Sensible Choice And One Surprise Choice Linked With Job
The narrow favourite is Darren Ferguson, who looks exactly the sort of appointment you would expect from Reading. He is a young up and coming manager who should be able to take the club forward and as a result he has been backed into favouritism and is a best price of 11/8 with SkyBet whilst Paddy Power go just 5/4. Ferguson is closely followed by Brian McDermott, who is usually the chief scout at Reading but has been put in temporary charge of the first team. It is thought he could land the job until the end of the season and he is now just 6/4 with SkyBet but he is best priced at Paddy Power with odds of 9/4.
Steve Coppell Could Be Lined Up For Reading Return
The odds make it a two horse race so it seems unlikely any of the other names being linked with the job will actually get it. If both the favourites miss out then it could be Steve Coppell who returns to Reading, he is next best in the betting at 16/1 with SkyBet and Paddy Power. He has taken them into the Premiership before and they would hope he can do it again. To find out the odds on Alan Curbishley, George Burley, Gareth Southgate or Glenn Hoddle visit the SkyBet or Paddy Power websites.
