Golden Globes 2010 Betting Odds make success for films such as Up In The Air and The Hurt Locker look likely, whilst Avatar is one of the best backed films since the Golden Globe Nominees were announced.
Avatar Well Backed But Up In The Air And The Hurt Locker Still Mostly Favourites
The Golden Globe for Best Picture is probably the most sought after award and the odds on favourite in that category is Up In The Air, the film is just 8/11 with Bet365 and SkyBet. Next best is Avatar, which has been backed from 9/1 into 3/1 with Stan James and William Hill whilst the only other realistic contender is The Hurt Locker at 6/1 with Betfred. The Hurt Locker may miss out there but should win in the Best Director category, Kathryn Bigelow, who directed the film, is even money favourite with Bet365 and Stan James. Jason Reitman and James Cameron, responsible for Up In The Air and Avatar, are 7/2 with Bet365 and 4/1 with Betfred respectively.
George Clooney Could Gain More Success For Up In The Air
Up In The Air could gain more success in the Best Actor market, the film's star, George Clooney is 11/10 with Bet365 and Ladbrokes and it looks a straight fight between him and Jeff Bridges (nominated for Crazy Heart), he is the second favourite at 7/4 with Betfred. Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds is an outsider in many categories but Christoph Waltz is likely to pick up Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film, he is just 1/7 with Bet365 .
