Six Nations 2010 Odds Have France And Ireland As Favourites Ahead Of England
Wednesday 03 February 2010 at 12:32
Six Nations 2010 Odds give four nations a realistic chance of winning the tournament with just Scotland and Italy outsiders with the bookies. France are currently edging favouritism but as well all know, there are likely to be many changes after the first round of matches this weekend.
France Edging Last Year's Winners Ireland For Favourite Spot
France, who last won the Six Nations in 2007 and have won it four times in ten years are unsurprisingly the favourites, they are rated at 13/8 with Stan James who go a standout price on the French. Last year's winner Ireland are second favourites at 5/2 with VC Bet and Betfred whilst England are next best in the pecking order at 5/1 with Sportingbet and Totesport, England are looking for their first win since 2003. Wales have two wins in the last ten years and they are 5/1 with Paddy Power and Ladbrokes and it is thought Scotland have little chance, they are 20/1 with Bet365 ahead of Italy who are a whopping 250/1 with William Hill.
Odds On Grand Slam Victories Look Good According To Recent Record
With six of the last eight victories in the Six Nations coming by way of a Grand Slam it is worth considering backing the Grand Slam for your favoured nation at increased odds. Obviously France are most likely to complete the Grand Slam, they are 9/2 with Bet365, who offer up to £200 in free bets to new customers. Ireland are 6/1 with Bet365 and Stan James to win the Grand Slam whilst England and Wales are both 14/1 with Paddy Power. Scotland are 80/1 with VC Bet to make it a Grand Slam win and Italy are extremely unlikely at 1500/1 with Blue Square. If you think no team will win the Grand Slam you can get 4/6 with SkyBet.
