UK General Election Betting Odds All Over The Place After Lord Ashcroft Non Dom Revelation
Tuesday 02 March 2010 at 11:58
General Election Betting bookmakers are sharpening their odds compiling pencils in expectation of a dirty negative campaign after Tory donor Lord Ashcroft revealed he was a non domicile and had not paid UK income tax on his overseas earnings.
General Election To Be Closer
The Labour party immediately tried to make as much capital out of the revelation and seemed to have succeeded with David Cameron looking uncomfortable when quizzed about the Tory Lords tax avoidance. The Conservatives drifted in the betting in the wake of this news and are 1.19 with betting exchange Betfair. Most firms now expect the General Election to be a much closer race than previously predicted.
Labour Start To Spin
Labour over the last week have been supported and are a best price 5/1 with VC Bet. We expect that price to shorten further during March as Gordon Brown and his party start to spin issues in a desperate attempt to prove the bookies prices wrong and hang on to power.
General Election Free Bets
Most bookies including Bet365 and Paddy Power and the above highlighted firms offer a free bet when you join them. If you want a General Election punt check out what you can get from the above firms.
