Crufts Betting Odds Now Make Gundog Odds On Favourite To Be Best In Show
Thursday 11 March 2010 at 09:51
Crufts 2010 Betting Odds are proving popular with the world's biggest annual dog show getting underway today and it seems everyone wants to back a Gundog to be the Crufts Best In Show.
Gundogs Now Odds On To Pick Up Top Prize For First Time Since 1999
The Gundog group have been extremely well backed to get the Best In Show Award over the four day event and despite not having won the Best In Show prize since 1999, Paddy Power have been forced to cut their odds to just 4/9 on the Gundogs. It is normally the Hounds and the Terriers who have proved most popular but they are lagging well behind, the Hounds are 5/1 with Paddy Power whilst you can back the Terriers at 6/1 with Paddy Power at the moment.
Bookie Thinks The Other Groups Are Just Making Up The Numbers
The Pastoral and Utility Groups are considered outsiders with both available at 8/1 with Paddy Power to be the Best In Show and even less likely is the Working group which can be backed at 9/1 with Paddy Power. The current complete outsider is the Toy group, who can be backed at 12/1 with Paddy Power, no surprise considering they have just one win in eighty one years! Paddy Power spokesperson Sharon McHugh had this to say on the Crufts 2010 Betting Odds:
"The Terrier Group has a fantastic track record at Crufts but this year most of the money has been for the Gundog group. To be fair it has been over a decade since the Gundog group produced a winner so it's long overdue!"
Paddy Power are also offering odds on the Friends For Life Award, which goes to a dog who has really changed the life of its owner, the current favourite is Sergeant Dave Heyhoe and his Labrador Treo, which is an arms explosive dog. They are just 2/5 with Paddy Power. For more Crufts 2010 Betting Odds visit the Paddy Power website and click on Novelty Bets.
