Next Labour Leader Betting Odds Have Miliband Brothers As Hot Favourites
Friday 14 May 2010 at 12:49
The Next Labour Leader Betting Odds are heating up with candidates now declaring themselves in the running to succeed Gordon Brown and it seems extremely likely that it will be one of the Miliband brothers, most probably David Miliband.
Miliband Brothers Go Head To Head In Leadership Battle
David Miliband has always been favourite to replace Gordon Brown ever since the former Prime Minister announced he would be stepping down following Labour's poor showing in the recent General Election. He has also been well backed since that announcement and now finds himself the odds on favourite, he is currently available at 1/2 with Bet365, who offer up to £200 in free bets to new customers. David Miliband's strongest competitor for Labour leadership is now his brother, Ed Miliband, who is the clear second favourite, some way behind David, at 6/1 with Ladbrokes and Boylesports. Either way it looks like a Miliband will be leading the Labour party soon.
Ed Balls And Andy Burnham Are Currently The Best Of The Rest
If both Miliband's miss out in the Labour vote then it seems Ed Balls or Andy Burnham are likely to get the nod. Ed Balls is just edging it as third favourite, he can be backed at 10/1 with Boylesports and Ladbrokes, he is marginally ahead of Andy Burnham who is 12/1 with Boylesports and Ladbrokes. If a female leader is to be voted in then it looks most likely to be Harriet Harman, she is currently as short as 20/1 with Paddy Power but can still be backed at 50/1 with Boylesports.
