Wednesday 21 July 2010 at 12:29
Middlesbrough are the current favourites in the Championship 2010/2011 Betting Odds but it looks a tough league to call this year and at least half of the Championship looks in with a shout of winning the league.
Middlesbrough And Nottingham Forest Set To Battle It Out For Title
Middlesbrough, who will be fielding half of the SPL this season it seems, are the current favourites to win the Championship for Gordon Strachan, they can be backed at 7/1 with Totesport, Stan James and Boylesports to win the Championship and just 9/4 with SkyBet and Stan James for promotion. Middlesbrough also have the favourite in the Championship top scorer odds, Kris Boyd is 8/1 with Ladbrokes to be the top scorer in the league in his first season at ‘Boro. Second favourites in the Championship are Nottingham Forest, they were knocked out of the playoffs by Blackpool last season but still look to be an improving team, they are 9/1 with Coral to win the league and 11/4 with VC Bet and 888Sport for promotion.
Burnley Fancied For Quick Return But Hull And Pompey Not So Much
The best of the relegated sides from the premiership this season appears to be Burnley, they are currently 11/1 with Totesport to win the Championship and 7/2 with SkyBet for promotion, that puts them ahead of fellow relegated teams Hull and Portsmouth, they are big prices for relegated teams, Hull are 22/1 with Bet365 to win the Championship and 7/1 with SkyBet to get promoted whilst Portsmouth are 28/1 with Coral to win the league and 9/1 with Coral to return to the Premiership by any means. Some of the more fancied teams include QPR who are 12/1 with VC Bet to win the league and also Reading who are 12/1 with Bet365 and SkyBet to win this season's Championship.
