Premiership Top Scorer Betting Odds Make Drogba And Rooney Favourites
Friday 23 July 2010 at 11:49
The latest Premiership top goalscorer 2010/2011 Betting Odds make Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Man Utd striker Wayne Rooney the favourites to outscore their rivals in the next Premiership season, which is now just weeks away.
Drogba Ready To Outscore Rooney Once Again
It seems sensible to start with Didier Drogba and Wayne Rooney, not only because they are favourites but also because they were the top two scorers last season. Drogba scored 29 goals last season and is currently a fair price at 6/1 with Paddy Power, he looks guaranteed to have another good season if he can stay relatively injury free. As for Rooney, he is also 6/1 to be top scorer, this time with VC Bet. Rooney had a great season last year scoring 26 but he might struggle to build on that having struggled at the World Cup and Drogba looks the better bet of the two at 6/1 with Paddy Power.
Torres And Van Persie Worth Passing Over Due To Injury Worries
Fernando Torres is the third favourite at the moment at 8/1 with Stan James and VC Bet and he would be the best bet if he could stay fit, but that is a huge if. Similar sentiments apply to Arsenal's Robin Van Persie who is 12/1 with VC Bet and Coral so the main threat to Drogba could be Man city's Carlos Tevez, presuming he actually gets in the team this season he looks a decent each way bet at 12/1 with Bet365, who offer up to £200 in free bets to new customers. With no major forward signings in the Premiership so far this summer Stan James are quoting a number of top strikers from other leagues who have been linked with Premiership moves, amongst the are Diego Forlan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic who are both 10/1 with Stan James.
