Latest Greenbrier Classic 2010 Betting Odds See Jim Furyk And Nick Watney As Favourites
Wednesday 28 July 2010 at 07:29
No Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson on the PGA Tour this week but a punters have a great chance of backing a decent priced winner as a result with bookmakers betting odds as high as 16/1 the field on first time event, The Greenbrier Classic.
Furyk Looking For Third Season Win
The Greenbrier Classic is set to replace the Buick Open on the PGA Tour and former US Open champ Jim Furyk is favourite with most bookmakers to be the first champion at The Old White Course.
Fifteen-time PGA Tour winner Furyk is a best-priced 16/1 with Bet365, Skybet and Coral to record his third win of the year after victories in this season's Transitions Championship and Verizon Heritage. Punters will be looking to Furyk to bounce back after a missed cut at the British Open and it may take Furyk a while to re-find his form.
Consistent Watney Sure To Win Soon
Close to the top of most bookmaker's list is the ultra consistent Nick Watney. The twenty-nine year old from California has recorded six top ten finishes this season but has yet to add to two PGA Tour victories. This must surely only be a matter of time as his coach Butch Harmon feels this player can win Major Championships, a fact underlined by two seventh place finishes at the Masters and the British Open this season.
Watney is a 25/1 chance to win again this week with Ladbrokes and VC Bet.
Watney looks a great bet to win again soon and if he doesn't win here at The Greenbrier Classic he should be followed very closely at the final major of the year the US PGA Championship.
