Mercury Music Prize 2010 Betting Has The XX Being Heavily Supported
Tuesday 03 August 2010 at 12:23
The Indie band xx are being supported continuously according to Mercury Music Prize bookmakers. The best price now on offer is 7/4 with Bet 365 and VC Bet, when the odds were first released they were available at 4/1 with William Hill. If the bookies and music fans are correct the three piece London group will easily win the Mercury Prize 2010.
The main dangers to xx look to be Wild Beasts at 6/1 with 888Sport. Their second album Two Dancers received widespread praise from the critics and with fickle music journalists often shying away from supporting the favourite the Wild Beasts may be the recipients of an xx backlash.
We make the Mercury Music Prize a three band fight and in the folk corner are Mumford and Sons at odds of 7.3 with Betfair. Their album Sign No More entered the charts at number 7 after being nominated and talked up as a possible winner. If a bigger priced winner is to scoop the prize then the Foals at 16/1 with Bet 365 look the best of the outsiders, their second album is Total Life Forever.
The winners will be announced on September 7th and all the bookmakers have prices on all the bands. To check the Mercury Music Prize Odds click any of the highlighted names above or visit Bet 365.
