Champions League Draw Is Good News For Arsenal And Chelsea But Not Real Madrid
Thursday 26 August 2010 at 18:01
The Champions League Draw has been made and with most groups looking winnable for the fancied teams there has been little impact on the Champions League Betting Odds. Real Madrid, already second seeds for the draw, arguably fared worst being drawn against AC Milan, Ajax and Auxerre. Real Madrid no longer look a great bet at 5/1 with Paddy Power despite the appointment of Jose Mourinho.
Barcelona, Chelsea And Arsenal Should Be Happy With Groups
Arsenal must be pretty happy with their draw, their second and third seeds were Shakhtar Donetsk and Braga respectively, they look a decent bet at 16/1 with SkyBet, Ladbrokes and Stan James as they should win that comfortably. Chelsea also shouldn't be too disappointed, they are the shortest priced English team in the Champions League Betting Odds at 13/2 with SkyBet and Paddy Power and their toughest matches are Marseille and Spartak Moscow. Champions League favourites Barcelona will once again face Rubin Kazan who beat them at the Nou Camp last season, as well as Panathinaikos and Copenhagen, Barcelona look a fair price at 3/1 with Bet365 and SkyBet.
Interesting Groups For Both Man Utd And Spurs
Man Utd have a fairly high profile group, they face both Valencia and Rangers and are now as big as 8/1 with Bet365 and VC Bet and despite it not being the easiest group, they should still qualify in first place. Last year's champions Inter Milan, who are 14/1 with Boylesports to become the first team to retain the Champions League, will face Champions League new boys Spurs, who are interesting at 40/1 with SkyBet and Paddy Power. The other two teams in that group are Werder Bremen and FC Twente and it looks as though Inter and Spurs could qualify from that group.
