Sunday 29 August 2010 at 11:17
Stories have surfaced in the quality papers that all is not well with the relationship between Mayor Of London Boris Johnson and Prime Minister David Cameron. Paddy Power bookmakers have reacted to this alleged friction by offering odds of just 5/2 that he will not stand again. He is 4/5 with three firms Bet 365, Ladbrokes and Paddy Power that he stands again and wins. Budget cuts could be the tipping point with Boris battling for more money for the capital.
Ken Livingstone
If Boris Johnson plumps for an easier life there are few credible candidates in the Next Mayor Of London Betting. Red Ken Livingstone is not popular with many Londoners but is second favourite to return as Mayor at 13/8 with Bet 365 and VC Bet.
Cheeky Girl
Only two other candidates are quoted by bookmakers, Oonagh King the former Labour MP who lost her seat to George Galloway in 2005 is 8/1 with Ladbrokes but she does need to win the Labour nomination. The outsider is former Liberal MP Lembit Opik now best known as the ex beau of a Cheeky Girl and sometime stand up comedian, he can be backed at 22/1 with Bet 365.
