Next Southampton Manager Betting Odds Have Phil Brown Favourite Ahead Of Nigel Adkins
Tuesday 07 September 2010 at 11:07
The Next Southampton Manager Betting Odds now appear to have gone full circle, one of the early favourites to become the Next Southampton Manager was Phil Brown and he is now expected to take the job although Nigel Adkins is also still in the frame and it now looks between the two.
Phil Brown Returns To Favouritism Ahead Of Nigel Adkins
Phil Brown was a close second favourite to replace Alan Pardew after he was sacked as Southampton manager but Brown soon found many other managers in front of him in the pecking order. Phil Brown is once again well fancied to become the New Southampton Manager though, he is just 5/4 favourite with VC Bet but you can still get best odds of 7/4 with SkyBet. Phil Brown looks as though he only faces real competition for the Southampton job from one man and that is Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins, who is rated second favourite at 9/4 with VC Bet. Adkins had become the favourite late last week but clearly Phil Brown has overtaken him as Southampton's first choice.
Big Name Manager Is Third Choice To Replace Pardew
There is one other manager who seems to hold a fair chance of becoming the Next Southampton Manager and it is a very big name. The big name is not the big name who was formerly well fancied to become Southampton Manager, that was Gianfranco Zola and his odds have finally drifted, Zola is now 16/1 with SkyBet. The big name is actually Martin O'Neill and interestingly he is just 5/4 with SkyBet to become the Next Southampton Manager. VC Bet make the former Aston Villa manager much less likely though, they go 7/1 currently. Those odds put O'Neill ahead of another former favourite Eddie Howe who is 10/1 with SkyBet and also Alan Shearer who is 16/1 with SkyBet.
