Prix De LArc De Troimphe Betting Odds At Longchamp Have Behkabad Ahead Of Fame And Glory
Monday 27 September 2010 at 15:07
The Group 1 Prix D Larc De Troimphe at Longchamp looks even more open this year as no European thoroughbred has dominated horse racing in 2010. Sea The Stars the John Oxx wonder horse was last year's champion at odds of 4/6 but in 2010 we expect a much bigger price animal to past the post in first place.
Arc Favourite
Ante post favourite at 7/2 with Bet 365 and Ladbrokes is Behkabad who won the Group 2 Prix Neil. This race has proved very informative in guiding punters to the winner of the Arc with both Hurricane Run and Sindaar winning this before going on to take Europe's richest race. As a three year old he also has the stats on his side as seven of the last ten winners have been three year olds.
Aidan O'Brien
Second favourite is the Aidan O'Brien trained Fame and Glory who is well travelled and well known to British and Irish racegoers. He is 11/2 best price with SkyBet who may feel his best years are behind him despite 4 wins this season including the Coronation Cup.
Workforce winner of the Investec Derby in June is a frustrating horse, most impressive at Epsom breaking the track record he then flopped going right handed at Ascot. This tempers enthusiasm as Longchamp is a right handed track but trainer Sir Michael Stoute has a great record in rejuvenating horses and if Workforce is back to his best he will be a contender. Workforce is 6/1 with VC Bet and Bet 365.
Arc Each Way Betting
Of the longer priced horses Sarafina at 9/1 with William Hill and Plumania at a huge 33/1 with Sportingbet and Stan James both look overpriced. These two French trained entry's were put in their place by the Henry Cecil trained Midday in the Prix Vermaille, but we like the fact that they travelled in the soft going and got home strongly.
All the bookmakers will have Arc odds and we expect they will offer some contrasting prices with the Paris Mutual also confusing the picture, this should lead to some horses going off bigger than they should. Bet 365 and Paddy Power both have very attractive new customer offers if you join them before the off Arc goes off this Sunday.
