Strictly Come Dancing Odds And Tips Suggest Ann Widdecombe Could Be The New John Sergeant
Friday 01 October 2010 at 15:31
Strictly Come Dancing hits the BBC screens again tonight and former MP Ann Widdecombe looks set to be the major talking point as she has made it clear that she has no dancing skills whatsoever. Professional partner Anton Du Beke looks to have his hands full once again!
Widdecombe Already Proving Popular
Bookmakers Paddy Power and William Hill have Ann Widdecombe at odds of 66/1 to win Strictly Come Dancing but they rue setting such large odds as Widdecombe is proving to be a hit on the show's blogs and forums and could be set for a long run on the dancefloor despite a lack of ability. In a similar vein to John Sergeant in Series Six of Strictly Come Dancing, popularity may count more than dancing ability and we could see Widdecombe's odds slashed as the weeks progress.
Punters are finding it hard to pick a favourite before the start of the series but former Eastenders actress Kara Tointon has received praise in the media from judge Craig Revel Horwood and would seem likely to go well. Tointon is a 9/2 shot with Boylesports and William Hill.
Also vying for favouritism is Countryfile's Matt Baker. The former gymnast should be fit enough to do himself justice with the gruelling training schedules and the bookies have latched on to this and make him also 9/2 (available with Paddy Power, Bet 365 and Skybet).
One contestant apparently struggling with the training is Patsy Kensit. Rumours are circulating that she was exhausted in training this week and the bookies Stan James have pushed the former Holby City and Emmerdale actress out to 25/1 as a result.
