Strictly Come Dancing Betting Odds See Matt Baker Shorten As Favourite

 Matt Baker's odds to win Strictly Come Dancing 2010 halved on Saturday night after the Countryfile presenter wowed the judges with an acrobatic performance.
Baker Clear SCD Favourite After First Dance
Countryfile and former Blue Peter presenter Matt Baker confirmed his place at the head of the betting for Strictly Come Dancing when receiving joint top marks in the first round of scoring from the judges. Baker has previous experience as a gymnast and acrobat and he put all those skills to good use in an energetic performance with partner Aliona Vilani. Baker is now best priced at 12/5 with Boylesports after being available at nearly twice those odds before Saturday's show.
The bookies have Kara Tointon and her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev as second favourites to lift the Strictly Come Dancing glitter ball but Kara will be hoping for better luck this week after tripping over her costume in last week's show. Thankfully it didn't seem to make too much difference to the judges scores as she ended up in third place just one behind the leaders on thirty points. Tointon is priced at 4/1 with Sportingbet and VC Bet to win Strictly Come Dancing.
'Ark Royal' Ann Widdecombe The Star Of The Show
Perhaps there could be another John Sergeant lurking in this year's Strictly Come Dancing field and the public will vote with their hearts instead of their heads. If so, the big personality of Ann Widdecombe (best priced 66/1 with Coral and Paddy Power) could be the dancer to be betting on this year. Widdecombe already appears to be very popular with the Strictly fans and as she is dancing with the dancer with perhaps the biggest fan base in Anton Du Beke they could present a formidable combination. Widdecombe was likened to the Ark Royal by by judge Bruno Tonioli but punters taking the 66/1 could get a good run for their money.
