Vitali Klitschko V Shannon Briggs Betting Odds News And Tips
Tuesday 12 October 2010 at 17:59
Vitali Klitschko fights Shannon Briggs in Hamburg on Saturday in what is his sixth fight since coming back from retirement. The five fights since his return have all gone relatively smoothly and unless he gets careless early on its hard to see Briggs troubling the champion.
Early Shock The Only Chance For Big Puncher Briggs
Vitaly Klitschko is the overwhelming favourite for Saturday's fight with Boylesports offering the best if rather prohibitive odds of 1/20 that the Ukranian retains his titles. Former WBO Champion Briggs is rated a 9/1 shot by Paddy Power and Victor Chandler to cause an upset and the draw is 66/1 also with Paddy Power
If there was to be an upset it would most likely be in an early round as Briggs is an explosive puncher and has won his last four fights in the first round. Also, Klitschko can be a slow starter and tends to overpower opponents towards the end of fights, even though only one of his post-retirement fights has gone the full twelve rounds.
It could be worth trying a few small investments on the fight to end in certain rounds. Briggs to win in Round One is overpriced at 100/1 with Boylesports and him winning in rounds two and three are similarly priced with Ladbrokes.
The other end of the fight could be covered by backing Klitschko to win in rounds 7-9 at a combined price of 3/1 with Bet365.
