Cox Plate Betting And Odds Has So You Think Ridiculously Short
Monday 18 October 2010 at 14:26
The Spring Carnival of Australian races moves on to the Cox Plate this weekend with an odds on favourite in the shape of So You Think. The Aussie wonder horse is 1.54 with Betfair, 1.5 or 1/2 with Bet 365 and 1.57 or 4/7 with Stan James. The four year old trained by master trainer Bart Cummings is unbeaten in 2010 and each run has been more impressive culminating in a three and half length beating of Alcopop in the Yalumba Stakes. All the wins this season have been at Caulfield and he now travels to Moonee Valley for the Plate but was a winner on that track in 2009. One Aussie bookmaker has already paid out on So You Think such is their belief that the Cummings horse cannot be beaten.
Cox Plate Each Way
Other bookmakers will be hoping to get the odds on favourite beaten but it does look a tall order. Second in the ante post Cox Plate betting is More Joyous at 9.5 with Betfair and 11/2 with CentreBet and this would be a good each way wager, More Joyous trained by the Caulfield Cup winning trainer Gai Waterhouse whose interview after that race win contrasted amusingly with the kind of post race interview we are use to from matter of fact British trainers, it was refreshing to see the joy on her face. More Joyous has form figures of 1111111 so is no back number.
Other value prices if you do not want to back the short price fav include Zipping at 12/1 and Trusting at 20/1 both with Centrebet. Ten runners are expected to be declared on Tuesday and go to post on Saturday afternoon or 6 am UK time. To back your selection click any of the Cox Plate bookmakers above or visit Betfair.
