Tony Mowbray Next Middlesbrough Manager Still Favourite Ahead Of Paul Ince
Friday 22 October 2010 at 10:40
The Next Middlesbrough Manager Odds still make Tony Mowbray the favourite to land the job ahead of his nearest rival Paul Ince. There are only three manager who are under 10/1 in the Next Middlesbrough Manager Odds so the shortlist doesn't look too long and it would be a surprise if an outsider landed the job.
Paul Ince Closes In On Mowbray In Search Of Boro Job
Tony Mowbray has been the favourite in the Next Middlesbrough Manager all week, ever since Gordon Strachan walked away from the job, and he is pretty much back to the same sort of odds he started as. Mowbray opened at around evens but was immediately well backed, down to 1/5 at one point, but then he drifted out again and he can currently be backed at best odds of 10/11 with Paddy Power, although SkyBet and Victor Chandler offer just 8/11. The main reason Mowbray has drifted has been because of strong support for Paul Ince, he is yet to challenge Mowbray for favouritism but he does look a strong contender at 7/4 with SkyBet and Victor Chandler.
Gary Megson A Clear Third Best In The Pecking Order
The other manager who looks in with a squeak of getting the job is Gary Megson, although he does look a little way off the pace at the moment and he is only likely to become the Next Middlesbrough Manager if both Tony Mowbray and Paul Ince turn the job down. After the initial three man shortlist we have to go all the way back to Phil Brown at 16/1 with Paddy Power and Ladbrokes to find the nearest threat to these three. Other managers who are available at similar odds include Dave Jones and Alan Pardew, both of whom are 20/1 with Ladbrokes.
