Ballon D Or Odds Make Xavi And Sneijder Favourites To Be Crowned Best Player Of 2010
Tuesday 26 October 2010 at 12:16
The Ballon d'Or 2010 Betting Odds suggest that both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will miss out on the Ballon dOr Player Of The Year with two World Cup finalists dominating the betting for World Footballer Of The Year.
World Cup Performances Look Key To Award
The 23 man shortlist ha been announced for the Ballon d'Or and it is dominated by players who impressed during the World Cup in South Africa and the two favourites in the Ballon d'Or Betting Odds both played in the final. Xavi is the odds on favourite currently, the Barcelona and Spain midfielder performed consistently at an amazingly high level throughout Barcelona's season last year as well as the World Cup in the summer and he is just 4/6 with Victor Chandler, who have quickly priced up the Ballon d'Or Betting Odds. Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder, who not only finished joint top scorer at the World Cup as he helped Holland reach the final, he also helped guide Inter Milan to Champions League glory, and he would be a worthy winner at 6/4 with Victor Chandler.
English Players Miss Out As Spain Dominate
It is a sign of the times that no English players were nominated, three players from the Premiership got the nod and they were Didier Drogba who is 25/1 with Victor Chandler, Cesc Fabregas who is also 25/1 with Victor Chandler and surprisingly Sunderland's Asamoah Gyan who is the 40/1 outsider with Victor Chandler after his three goals at the World Cup. Recent winners Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo look likely to miss out, Messi is third favourite at 10/1 with Victor Chandler whilst Ronaldo seems much less likely, he is 25/1 with Victor Chandler.
