Carling Cup Betting Has Arsenal And Manchester United As Favourites
Tuesday 30 November 2010 at 14:26
Arsenal and Manchester United who face Wigan and West Ham respectively are at the head of the Carling Cup Betting. Arsene Wengers team can be backed at 7/4 with Ladbrokes and Sportingbet to lift their first trophy for five years and are 1/4 with Boylesports to beat Wigan in 90 minutes tonight.
Manchester United are expected to rest a few star names against the Hammers tonight and can be backed at 9/4 to win the Carling Cup for the third season in a row. They are also odds on like Arsenal to dispose of their quarter final opponents. You can back United at 4/6 with Ladbrokes to beat West Ham, the draw is 16/5 with William Hill and a West Ham victory in 90 minutes is a value 9/2 with Betfred. Betfred also offer increased odds on the first goalscorer market if your selection gets a double or a hat trick after opening the scoring.
The other Carling Cup matches are harder to call. Birmingham take on Aston Villa and Alex McLeish's side are favourites at 7/5, the draw is 23/10 and a Villa win is 9/4 all with Victor Chandler. Aston Villa have major injury problems and will need to improve on their weekend capitulation against Arsenal if they are to progress. The most open game looks to be Roy Keanes Ipswich against the Baggies. West Brom are favourites at 21/20 with SkyBet and William Hill, the draw which looks value is 5/2 with Coral and the tractor boys are 3/1 with Victor Chandler.
The 2010 Carling Cup has produced some surprises and we expect that it will not be plain sailing for the four favourites on Tuesday and Wednesday.
