Strictly Come Dancing Betting Odds Have Matt Baker As Strong Favourite
Sunday 05 December 2010 at 11:41
Matt Baker looks to have taken a strong hold over the betting odds for Strictly Come Dancing as he hits odds on for the first time this weekend after wowing the voting public with an audacious back somersault from the judges' desk.
Matt Baker Is A Hit As Austin Powers
Countryfiles' Matt Baker looked to be in danger of missing Strictly Come Dancing this week as the weather looked to be conspiring against him as he filmed for his real job in the Outer Hebrides. Luckily he and his dance partner Aliona Vilani managed to practice whilst he was on location and eventually managed to beat the weather and get back to London. They performed an Austin Powers based routine in Strictly's Hollywood theme night and Matt wowed the audience with an amazing back somersault. The judges seemed less impressed placing him in joint third place on the night but the bookmakers believe he is the dancer to beat and Matt is now a best-price of 10/11 with William Hill, Boylesports and Bet 365.
Kara Tointon impressed the judges with her tango and scored an impressive thirty-eight out of forty and moved into number two spot in the Strictly Come Dancing betting odds. Kara and partner Artem Chigvinstev are proving to be the most consistent couple with the judges and have averaged the highest score per week of all the competitors. Kara looks to be Matt Baker's strongest rival and the bookies now make her 11/4 to lift the SCD trophy and that price is available with Boylesports and Bet 365.
Eastenders actor Scott Maslen continues to be popular with the audience but its obvious he is feeling the pressure of a heavy filming schedule on top of his Strictly commitments and has been complaining of feeling tired. The bookies have decided to take a chance on pushing out Scott's price as a result and he is now a massive 7/1 with Skybet and Victor Chandler. Should Scott get a break from filming and be able to concentrate 100% on Strictly then the bookies could regret offering such a large price.
Pamela Stephenson continues to confound the critics who believe that this competition can't be won by the over fifties. Pamela celebrated her sixty-first birthday this week and crowned the week with recording the series first set of perfect marks when recording forty out of forty for her Viennese Waltz. Despite top-scoring in five out of the ten weeks the bookies continue to take a chance on Pamela not lifting the title and she is still available at a tempting 7/1 with Bet 365 and Victor Chandler.
